I did called NSC IO yesterday and she said that my packet must have been in caught up in the front log.
Looks like all our 485 packets have been xfered to TSC from NSC. Hence SRCXXXXXXXXX

So, we're back to the semantics. We need USCIS/DOL definitions of "permanent" and "legitimate"--not the definition just for educators/tenured teaching positions, as desi3933 gave. If we don't have the definitions, we can/can't assume anything/everything. Therefore, self-employment in same/similar occupation, with a *projected* cash flow, should be classified as "FT, permanent."

I said this before, Permanent job does not mean "forever", it simple means it has no fixed end date (i.e. indefinite duration). That said, most of the Permanent Jobs are, in fact, at will jobs.

Attached is the AC21 memo. Good luck. In my opinion, it clearly allows Self Employment.
Set up a LLC company or sole proprietorship and work with an attorney. Keep the paperwork tight and upto date. If permanent offer is hard to come by , you got to do what you got to do in a legal way :) All the best!

United states postal service. My lawyer sent it on june 29 and to this day it's a mestry to me how it was delivered at 10:10 pm at night. I did not think anybody would accept it. BUt if they were working on 25000 in 48 hours. The only reason i think they took it is to finish the number of visa available.

"EB-2 India. This category is expected to remain unchanged or to move very slowly forward (by a week or so) in the short-term. This will make sure that fradulent applicants cannot port from EB3 to EB2.

Did anyone get their physical Cards without getting CPO message ?
I have recd the I-797C Approval notice on the 11th but I have not recd the physical cards as yet. BTW I did not get any welcome e-mail or CPO mail - I directly got 485 Approval e-mail and that is all.

and they will notify me about appearing for biometrics if required.

Up until July 29, 2007 (incl.) when sorting of files was going on, NSC did a load sharing of files with TSC. (and btw they did not look at where ones' I-140 is adjudicated when making the selection, it was random. I know several such cases)
This in my opinion is a very good way of making sure adjudicating resources are kept in balance at both centers.
Like somone quiet rightly pointed out it is akin to the old Labor Certification process where some states were way faster than others (less demand faster process).
In the direct filing which started July 30, 2007 the load sharing has a great possibilty of being tilted one way or the other (though maybe not as much as old LC's). They have made a geographical distribution and not one that factors # of applications traditionally received from states.
On the other hand, may be USCIS has figured that the particular geographical jurisdiction produces the right load sharing between NSC and TSC!
CA and NY were the two states which were always backlogged during those bad old days of labor processing. Now, CA application goes to TSC and NY goes to NSC and that might keep both the centers balanced going forward.
But I think rather than dividing based on the states, they should rather do a load balancing based on the request coming..just like our network works :)

Call USCIS on 1-800-375-5283. Then sequence to get the "Human" on line is 1-2-2-6-2-2-1.
They asked me to wait 90 days before calling in with questions related to Receipt notice. They are advised now that it will at least take 90 days to get the receipt notices completed.

Totally agreed that quota increase is controversial and an alternative approach must be agreed upon - 1932, CIR and now SKIL has taught us that bitter lesson. I am not by any means questioning the wisdom of going after the low-hanging fruits like 485 filing etc. All I am saying is - we cannot assume everything else remains the same. Things like 485 filing etc are our niche goals - no corporate interest is served by that and in a brutally capitalistic country thats a huge disadvantage.The fact is ANY relief, whether it includes quota increase or not, still takes a lot of lobbying and money to introduce all on its own strength.Yours and mine promotion/career prospects are the least of the lawmakers' worries, however non-controversial it may be and however deserving we may be. The need of the hour is to increase our membership base and contributions - lets face it, 200k in funds is not going to get us too far on our own steam. If 6000 of us could achieve so much in an year, imagine what 100k will do. That way we will be a credible enough force to be heard and respected. It still beats me how we have only 6000 odd members despite the dire situation that the majority of EB applicants find themselves in since 2001.
Most of the time we have to search for bills to attach our provisions anyways. The only problem is that right now all our provisions are either being labeled as "quota increase" or are being attached to "Quota Increase" bills. Try and remember S-1932, CIR and SKIL. AILA will always be after H1 Increase and so will Big Corps. Only this time instead of seperating ourselves as "EB only" we try to piggyback on either "Quota increase" bills OR we try and piggyback on just about ANY bill we can piggyback onto. Most of the times weird bills get combined (S1932 for example).
If 2006 has taught us anything it should be "Do NOT try and increase quotas and numbers". For starters it takes TOO long to do and there is MUCH more opposition from even the average American. Remember the IV Core telling us how the Anti-immigrant calls far outnumbered our calls during the Recent SKIL bill? Guys even the biggest Corps have been unsuccessful in getting Visa number increases. Do we honestly believe that with 6,000 members who are NOT a voting base (and may never be) + the lack of funds, we are going to do what these big guns have not been able to accomplish? Before it was rare now they are just getting more difficult. California rfe's are a little difficult and unless y you make sloppy mistakes; they generally approve them.
vermont is where they are going above and beyond in scrutinizing cases. Most companies who file through california are used to the issues and have adapted. However; what vermont is doing is fairly new and companies in vermont region are not used to the expectations of that particular service center since they were very easy in the past.

How can contributing $1000.00 to immigration voice solves this problem? You are telling like a swami's in India, give me money I will do some pooja on your behalf and all your problems will be solved.
The money is not for me or for the Immigration Voice but for the lobbying to make the uscis or the government understand how the employment based GC system is outdated, and how the people who came to usa with an American Dream are being played by the rules not for days or weeks or months but for years and years. And procrastinating their American Dream because of the limitations they have during the GC process.
Active participation or contribution of 10 or 20 or 100 people wont be any effective unless and untill we all do it collectively.

This is my first post here. Even though I've been a member for sometime, I wasn't even aware of these forums. When the July VB fiasco happened, I stumbled upon these forums and I was glued throughout the entire saga. U know what, IV was the only one who gave me any kind of HOPE. I am so thankful for what the IV core has done for us.
Its a shame that we all sit quietly and let someone else pay for our problems. After all, most of us have decent paying jobs here. So I too will pledge $ 100 and I am also going to contribute twds IV's cause.........
I hope more ppl will come forward and do the same.
