So it's the day before the flowers will be delivered and let's make the most out of this story. Here are the links to the press release to use
PDF version (http://www.touchdownusa.org/pdf/USCISFlowerCampaign.pdf) that can be sent as an attachment.
HTML version (http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=ap9x7pmvk6s_32c3khvg) that can be copy-pasted as text of the email. Most news organizations have dedicated reporters to cover immigration issues; so our first contact should be with them, since they'd be most interested in this story. Contact the writers of any immigration related stories that you've read recently - contact either by phone, or by email. If you are contacting by email here are a few helpful tips
Make sure that title/information of that person's most recent article is used in the subject line. Something like, 'Follow up to Green Card Woes in WSJ'
Refer to the article in the body of your email. For example
You recently wrote about the frustrations of green card applicants due to a reversal by the USCIS (Wall Street Journal - July 5, 2007 - 'Reversal Frustrates Green Card Applicants'). I am one of those skilled, legal applicants and we are planning to protest against this decision the USCIS in a unique and peaceful manner - by sending hundreds, if not thousands of flower bouquets to the director of USCIS, Mr. Gonzalez on July 10th.
After this, you can say that please refer to the attached press release for more information
Wrap up your email with something like, "This is probably the first time when skilled, legal professionals are participating in an event like this at this scale and it goes to show the level of anxiety in the community right now. Would you be willing to write about this event as a follow-up to your previous article?"
There is no harm in giving your contact number to let the reporter know that you can be contacted for any follow-up questions.
Other things that we can do to create a buzz around it is to talk about it in blogs, various forums etc., specially if you are a blogger. Already, if you search USCIS+Flowers in Technorati, there are a good number of hits - we should try and increase them.
Call up your local public radio station and tell them about this event (http://www.npr.org/stations/)
Any other ideas regarding increasing the visibility of this campaign should be posted on this thread.

good luck with your effort. I hope it resolves smoothly. I think the employer will budge once he sees the notice from the attorney.

You can do all you want and be as blunt. USCIS doesn't have to answer to you. Stop chanting the "HIGHLY SKILLED", paying all taxes, nonsense. You were not brought to the USA at gun point. You chose to come (and stay). The USA can just put one ad in the newspaper anywhere in the world and there will be 10 million highly skilled NEW people they can bring. They do not need you (us). It is important to remember that we are not doing anyone a favor by being here except yourselves.
Again, because USCIS is so BIG and has millions of applications to process they can say they are trying their best and cannot reply to each individual.

Message from USCIS Director Emilio Gonzalez
I understand that individuals are planning to send flowers to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) beginning on Tuesday, July 10. USCIS has made arrangements to forward those flowers to our injured service members recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at Bethesda Naval Hospital.

I think IV should make it mandatory for $25/monthly charge for all the folks.
At least we can get rid of the dual-nature of 'helping you, only a little bit' sort of tendency.
However, there should total transparency once people pay. I see some guys are frustrated for lack of information despite them being donors.

INA doesn't talk about visa allocation for spouse and children in employment pref. So we need to atleast challenge CIS interpretation on this.

Dear Mehul,
Sorry to hear about your situation. Our prayers to God to help you in your situation.
Attorney Prashanti Reddy has been involved in a lot of pro bono work especially for spouses of 9/11 victims. You can contactt her, let me know if you want to get her consultation. She is a big supporter of IV.
Like everyone here said, things change. I am sure things will go well for you.

As far as I can tell from this thread, no one who was eligible to file 6/1 has had receipts yet.
I was told, attorney / employer will receive notice of receipt for I 485, not employee. For EAD / AP - that goes to employee, not attorney / employer

Incorrect
As per law one should have intent to work full-time for the employer (or AC-21 employer) at the time of approval. There is no time period specified.
The intent, of course, can change after some time. Lawyers differs on the duration. Some argue it is 90 days, whereas others suggest 180 days or 1 year.
Not a legal advice.

Dr. William:
My I-485 application based on I-140 of NIW has been approved finally, after an RFE replying. Is there any requirement of how long I can change job after the I-485 approval?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A:
According to USCIS previous requirement, a person is required to work for the sponsoring employer for at least one year after obtaining the Green Card. There may be a problem when you want to apply for U.S. citizenship later, if you leave the sponsoring employer in a short period of time after obtaining the Green Card.
The AC-21 rule does not clear the issue of a person who leaves its employer after the I-485 approval, but it is better to take a conservative way to reduce the potential risk later.

Giving Pay stubs instead of FUTURE employment letter ?
That may be a RFE and then eventually you have to give that letter and do more bargaining with your employer...
You wont neccesarily get RFE for omitting the employer's letter. Your 485 CAN GET DENIED.
YOU NEED EMPLOYER'S LETTER THAT STATES THE INTENTION OF HIRING WHEN GC IS APPROVED. Otherwise, as per USCIS memo recently issued, the officer can simply deny the 485 without bothering the send you an RFE to explain the missing document.
The recent memo says that if the "INTIAL EVIDENCE" is missing, then the petition can be denied outrightly without having to send the RFE.
Read this memo page 2 item # 3 :
http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/RFEFinalRule060107.pdf
Also, read the filing instructions on form I 485. The employer's letter is listed under "Initial evidence" list.

at some month before OCT 2007 the dates would become unavailable.
what would happen at that time?
say your case was received by USCIS and they have not issued FP notices.
what if they issued FP notices but not issued EAD and/or AP.
would they still issue an EAD and AP even if your dates are not current(obviously the case was received by them and they issued you a case number)
any ideas?
How do you know that the visa numbers will indeed become "U", come October? Any numbers/sources to back up the claim?
I know some senior members previously indicated in these forums that there is a difference between a "U"-Unavailable and a retrogressed date of 2003 for example.
