Hi,
I got my EAD today...Even i received my EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? I haven't received receipts yet...I filled G-28...my attorney did not receive my receipts...I don't know what is going on...

Few days ago, I saw this on TV - An American soldier died in Iraq leaving behind a 29 year old Polish wife and 6-month-old US citizen baby. Wife's paper (adjustment of status from K1->GC) was pending for 6 months or so with USCIS. When USCIS came to know about the death of that soldier (US citizen and I do not know how they came to know about it), they issued deportation order for his wife. Reason being, primary applicant is no more in this world so his dependent's application is null and void. She has been running from door to door with a baby in one arm and death letter of her husband with deportation order in the other arm. There is no one to listen to her. She lost her husband; she is going to lose her house and ability to stay in this country.
I absolutely hate to say this but Mehul, I think your wife will be better off in her home country. Please weight this option as well. My prayers are with you.

If you think it is that ridiculuous, then you should tell the core members that. They did ask us to call him on the last day of LD. There is nothing wrong in writing to him. In fact, you are making a comparison that is not correct.

I resonate the feelings of all on this forum, God bless you and your family, these are some thoughts coming to my mind... all might not be feasible in your case so take what you think might help the current situation and make an informed decision.
- Find an "good" immigration lawyer, most immigration lawyers are very community minded, they might also help you without any fees,
- There is a huge fiji community in US I am talking about well established business people (especially in automobile industry) who can help in applying a H1 visa for your wife as a backup and also meet local politicians, and take an infopass appointment to know what really happens to such cases like yours.
- Since you are a Indian Citizen you can go to India for a second opinion if you prefer to, there are great Doctors who studied in US and went back to start their own clinics. Canada is another country who gives free health care and have a shorter immigration process.
- Life in India will also be less expensive if you decide you live there with your savings of 8 years, you might want to look into India's policy on Fiji citizen immigration if your wife/children are Fiji citizens.
- I am sure you must have looked into cancer survivor stories, stem cell research and treatment options.
- Last but not least, concentrate on getting better - fight back, also look into your life insurance options, property papers and write a Will.

I think it will be smooth. Landing by road is easier than by air. You need to do the following as soon as you have landed. I recommend you land early in the morning as gov. offices are closed at noon:
1. Locate an HR office and get your SIN number. This will take 30 min to an hour once you are there. You will need to show your Passport and COPR document as a proof.
2. Locate the medical insurance office and obtain your medical insurance card.
3. Go to the post office and obtain a PO box.
4. Open a bank account. Use the PO box address as mailing addres.

Last week i received a letter from my canadian lawyer to send my passport to buffalo for stamping. The last date mentioned is March,08
Regarding me, I got through canadian immigration with mine and my wife's points. My wife is a Permanent resident for last 3 years 10 months in US. I am in EB3 category. PD Oct 06.
When checked the rules for maintaining PR in US for my wife, She cannot apply for PR in any other country till the time she is a PR in this country. As per the lawyers she will have a difficulty in applying for citizenship.
Now, I cannot myself apply for canadian immigration. because its a joint filing. What should i do?

Very well written. We need this kind of language material to present to our friends. You got my contribution. How do I donate $20? I don't see tab for that money on page. Minimum for one time contribution I see is $100. Also is there any way that I do not have to use paypal and directly use my cc to pay?

He never claimed his wife was better than the OP. All he is saying is that his wife HAD a job, which is the minimum requirement to apply for an H-1B. He never said that converting from H4 to H1 is illegal!
