I feel sorry for EB3 folks even though I'm under EB2. But I get upset when some of the EB2 folks don't even know the reason why they started getting green cards recently all of a sudden ( b'coz of roll over). They don't educate themselves and talk as if they deserve the green cards. If was a collective effort from IV and fellow immigrants that pressurised USCIS to follow the rules and reduce the backlogs.
Are you implying every person born in India in the EB2 owes a debt of gratitude to IV?
Why do people not deserve their greencards? If they followed the law, stood in line, and the government of the USA deemed them fit for a GC what else do you need for them to be deserving? Touch your feet and get your blessings?

My 485 application was sent to TSC on July 24th (received on July 25th). No receipt yet and don't know whether the checks have been cashed or not -- my attorney is enjoying her vacation!
I-140 has been approved at TSC on Aug 15th 2007 (applied mid Feb).

I agree with kshitijnt that you need past employer more than you need client. In my case I had received 485 query to supply some my employment related docs ( whether that I am working with responser or working with someone else, letter from company showing my current position,sal. etc). Since I didn't change my employer, it was very easy and quick to get such documents from current employer. Imagine if I would have switched on EAD then I would have to chase my past employer for letters, paystubs etc and by the I would got them from past employer,I faced the risk of PD moving back.
Your case is different becasue you filed your I-485 with them. Here he has not started 485 at all.I don't know how he can maintain good relation with them. Some employer are too torugh to deal and same goes with some employees too.

I can't understand why Sanhari's suggestion would rile up EB2 folks. All he suggested was to use the EB spillover visas for oldest cases irrespective of EB category and country.
Sanhari - Are you sure that this is a USCIS decision? Can USCIS change the way the do the spillover without legislation change?
Folks, There is a another thread on here that says IV is neither against EB3 nor for EB2. If that's really the case why would Sanhari's suggestion not find favor? If IV seriously want to do something for the backlog, Sanhari's suggestion should be taken up.
I anticipate and welcome reds, greens, blues for this post :)

Unless, EB3 people come out of the lethargic content/self pity and start working on the issues as if their life depended on it (it does) - just writing to the senators and representatives will not help. The legislative offices is not going to do the analysis (in the time that matters to us) and address it to the USCIS. However, if we do the ground work and then approach them, we may have a better chance of succeeding.

My EAD renewal is pending as well - RD 6/18 - present EAD expiring on 9/25. I requested expediting processing on 8/13 and received a letter yesterday saying they are reviewing my request and will have a decision in 60 days : :rolleyes:
We CANNOT do any thing, when I called USCIS, IO said they can't do either.. wait for 60 days. BS
sparklinks - I got card production ordered email today and LUD on EAD cases online. I sent a request for inquiry thru immigration staff of my Senator (Sen. Kennedy - MA) three days ago. Not sure if that had any role to play in EAD approval.
Check your status and update as our cases were identical. I'll update details of duration of EAD renewal when I get physical cards.

Agreed. $5000 is about the same amount a single student paid to TVU, the diploma mill. This used to be the price 1 employee paid a fraud DCC for processing a Green card.

we get excited before and few days after the bulletin ...the fact is that iron is no longer hot ..no matter what we do now -- it is too late. democrats focussed on healthcare instead of immigration and are fighting a losing battle ..they will be too tired to do anything after that. for those in EB3 and those who are in EB2 (but not yet filed 485) ...all they can do is have a strong plan B ..make as much money as you can while the sun shines ..the odds of getting a GC is worse that winning a lottery (so might as well buy few tickets now and then !!).
the only slight hope is that since amnesty is as good as dead ..they may pass some sort of recapture (maybe to give additional boost to housing).

Mehul, After reading your post, I feel very bad for what you are going through and my heart goes out to you and your family. I know nothing of what I say is enough to help you but again, I still say it with the hope that things will turn around for you. GOD HAS HIS WAYS, AND HE IS THE ULTIMATE FORCE IN THIS WORLD. I have often wondered, the chase we chase. The reality is nothing else matters but HIM yet it is so difficult to accept this reality and we chase the materialistic things in him which at the end, every one of us writing here and reading is going to leave behind one day.
GOD IS KIND, HE WILL LOOK AFTER YOU. PRAY TO HIM, SINCERELY. I suggest you take all the treatments there is and Don't worry you will come out of this. He will protect you and many prayers come your way. I will definitely pray for you and your family.
Nothing else matters. As per your question, I think consulting your lawyer and then working with him to meet a senator or congressmen to help expedite your case may prove helpful. Both of you can work together so you have a backing. And like someone earlier posts said, make sure your finances are strong and have a family backing in US.
I will continue to pray for you. STAY STRONG AND SEEK COMFORT IN " HIM " ALONE.
